Oklahoma extended its winning streak to seven games with a doubleheader sweep of UMKC at the OU Softball Complex in Norman Monday night. OU blanked the Kangaroos, 4-0, in the first game of the twinbill and run-ruled the nightcap, 8-0. Oklahoma (14-3) started Kami Keiter on the mound in the first game and she pitched the Sooners through five innings before freshman Dana Askins took the mound for the final two. Keiter improved to 10-1 with the win. OU senior shortstop Kelli Braitsch (1-for-3) tripled in first inning and scored on a single by Leah Gulla (1-for-3) to give the Sooners the early 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the fourth, senior catcher Heather Scaglione (2-for-3) tripled and pitcher Kami Keiter (2-for-2) homered to right center to put OU up, 3-0. Scaglione doubled in the sixth and was replaced on base by pinch runner Lori Shimasaki. Sophomore Jessica Leslie (1-for-1), pinch hitting for Jennifer Stump, then doubled to RBI Shimasaki. Dana Askins would strike out the final three UMKC batters in the seventh to seal the 4-0 win. Askins struck out four of the six batters she faced while allowing no hits. Keiter allowed three hits while striking out three.

In the nightcap, Oklahoma blanked UMKC, 8-0, in five innings. The Sooners got up early when senior Erin Evans reached on a fielder's choice and Kelli Braitsch (2-for-2) blasted a ball that hit the right foul pole for the automatic home run. OU added a run in the second stanza as Jessica Leslie belted her first homer of the season for a 3-0 lead. The Sooners erupted in the fourth for five runs to put the game out of reach. Freshman Kristin Vesely (2-for-3) hit a two-run double, Evans added a one-run double and Braitsch hit her second roundtripper of the game to plate Evans. Dana Askins pitched the first four innings to record the win and even her record at 2-2. Askins allowed just two hits and struck out four. Nicole Denes pitched the last inning and allowed one hit, one walk and struck out one.

Oklahoma 13, Riverside 1 (5). Oklahoma run-ruled UC-Riverside at Farrington Stadium on the campus of Arizona State University in Tempe on Sunday morning. The No. 9 Sooners improved to 11-3. On Friday, the Sooners won a 7-4 decision over UCR. Oklahoma was led by senior Leah Gulla (4-for-4) who belted two home runs and a double. Gulla had a season-high eight RBI and scored two runs on her roundtrippers. Seniors Erin Evans (2-for-3) and Kelli Braitsch (3-for-3) and freshman Nicole Denes (3-for-3) all hit doubles in the game as the Sooners overpowered the Highlanders. Denes pitched all five innings for OU and improved to 2-0 with the victory. The Coppell, Texas, native allowed six hits and one run as she walked three and struck out one Highlander batter.

Coastal Carolina swept a double-header from the University of Virginia on Monday, 2-0 in the first game, then 8-0 (5). In the first game, Coastal Carolina used three walks and a two-run single to third base to score its two runs. Christina Doyle got the win over Erin Horn. Virginia had the leadoff runner on base in four of the seven innings. In the nightcap, Coastal Carolina's Morgan Tolleson fired a two-hit shutout in an 8-0 five-inning win. Tolleson struck out nine and walked just one. Suzanne Kimbrell broke a scoreless tie with a three-run homer in the bottom of the fourth inning. Coastal Carolina used five singles and three walks to score five runs in the fifth inning to make the final score 8-0.

Stephen F. Austin 9, UL Monroe 5. SFA completed its first series sweep of the season on a rainy Monday afternoon with a 9-5 win over UL-Monroe. The win moves SFA to 4-2 in SLC play, and 12-11 overall. Game three of the series was played in a steady rain that forced a delay on several occasions, but play was never stopped. Devin Cobb (4-0) picked up the win working two innings of scoreless relief. Cobb picked up the win in each of the games in the series. The 'Jacks jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the game scoring four runs in the bottom of the second inning to take the early lead.

Iowa State 2, UC Santa Barbara 0. The Cyclones won the final game Sunday and the tournament championship with a 4-1 record. Iowa State's Erica Martinez pitched a shutout and hit a two-run home run stealing the championship game from Santa Barbara 2-0 on Sunday. The Cyclones went 4-1 for the weekend and moved to 7-8 overall. In addition to Martinez's shutout on the mound, she only gave up two hits and had 11 strikeouts in the final game.

Arkansas won two games this past weekend from Utah State, whose tournament was cancelled by rain. The Aggies lost the first game 7-0 and the second 9-0 to the Lady Razorbacks.
